The recent energy crisis of 2021-2023 has led to high electricity prices in Europe, which is especially exposed to uncertain geopolitical conditions. This one-day workshop titled Electricity Markets and the Energy Crisis which is held at the National Technical University of Athens and hosted by the Power and Energy Society Chapter of IEEE Greece assembles field experts to discuss about measures for coping with the crisis, the design of the European electricity market, explaining the causes of high energy prices, the role of renewable energy resources, and a number of other topics of contemporary interest that relate to the European, and especially the Greek, electricity market.
In order to allow for time for conversation and interventions, each talk is limited to 15 minutes. Speakers will have time to respond to questions at the discussion that will take place after the presentations.
